Eostre is a Goddess of spring and fertility; her name is derived from words for dawn, or the shining light from the East. The female hormone estrogen is also derived from her Saxon name Eastre.
Ostara is the spring equinox, a time where night and day stand in perfect balance, with the days and the powers of light growing stronger. It is a time to celebrate the warmth returning to the world and the balance of all things.
