Full Moon in TaurusRitual written* and led by Janine Donnellan(October 10, 2008) ![]() "AS IT IS ABOVE, SO IT IS BELOW; AS ON THE EARTH, SO IN THE SKY." Taurus is an Earth sign, and a symbol of servitude, we see that matter is ever the servant of spirit, a necessary means for the manifestation of intelligence. This Full Moon is a time of completion and celebration, the Taurus Full Moon provides the opportunity to come in contact with the purpose and direction of our life. Contact that is ever expanding and deepening, one that brings clear life changes in us, which eventually leads to transformation, an expansion of your consciousness and a changing of your focus from one level to another level. This full moon is in two power signs (Taurus & Scorpio) and asks us to grapple with questions of large import. It reminds us that sometimes our decisions are life changing. It asks us to contemplate what our earthly sojourn is really all about. We now have come to a time of great changes, a rebirth, a new era, a celebration. It's not a time of fear unless you are so entrenched in duality, but a time of Light and abundance, joy and opening to deeper levels of your divinity in order to operate on the physical plane. It's no longer about material security, but spiritual connection and unity. Tonight we are connecting to an ancient Iranian God & Goddess under the guidance of the Watchers or the Royal Stars, these stars marked the cardinal points of the equinoxes and the solstices. They are also known as the Archangel stars being watchers of the four points of the compass. Regulus - (the star of kings) known as being the heart of the lion in the constellation of Leo. The healing Archangel Raphael, the watcher of the North. Fomalhaut - the fish's mouth in the constellation of Pisces. The Archangel Gabriel, the watcher of the South. Alderbaran - the left eye of the bull in the constellation of Taurus. The Archangel Michael, the watcher of the East. Antares - the heart of the scorpion in the constellation of Scorpio. The Archangel Oriel, the watcher of the West. Thus, the placement of all four of the royal stars in the cornerstone constellations is consistent with the symbolism of emotional, spiritual, mental and physical aspects of all living souls. As the Eye of the Bull, Aldebaran is called the Eye of Revelation. It is also known as the Buddha's star, the Star of Illumination, and God's Eye. This magnificent star has been used for centuries in navigation, and is known by many civilizations to be connected with the spirits of rain and the fertility of the earth. Tonight we call upon Mithra/Mithras who was born from the earth. Mithra emerged from a broken rock with a torch in one hand and a sword in the other. These objects represented his two roles as sun god and war god. n the Greek and Roman form of the cult, Mithra's most important mythic act was the slaying of a great bull, whose body and blood became the source of all life on earth. Images of Mithras usually show him killing a bull. Such sacrifices were central to his worship, which took place in shrines located in caves or cave like buildings in honor of the god's subterranean origins. Ahura-Mazda was said to have created Mithras in order to guarantee the authority of contracts and the keeping of promises. The name Mithras was, in fact, the Persian word for 'contract'. Mithras was born of Anahita, an immaculate virgin mother once worshipped as a fertility goddess before the hierarchical reformation. Anahita was said to have conceived the Saviour from the seed of Zarathustra preserved in the waters of Lake Hamun in the Persian province of Sistan. ![]() Opening circle clockwise AIRWatcher that dwells in the starry realms of Aldebaran, Eye of the Bull, FIREWatcher that dwells in the starry realms of Regulus, Heart of the Lion, WATERWatcher that dwells in the starry realms of Antares, Heart of the Scorpion, EARTHWatcher that dwells in the starry realms of Fomalhaut, Mouth of the Fish, CASTING CIRCLEA circle is cast around about, spirit stay in, world stay out; a circle is cast around about, a world within a world without; the circle is cast around and around, in spirit and power we are now bound.
