Beltane Circle - 2007

Members walk to the circle drumming and ringing bells to let the Fey folk know that that our ritual to honour them has come. When we have formed a circle we will sing:

Drums will play and the cauldron is lit.

Rulers of the Air, Sylphs, faeries and elemental beings. We do call upon you to witness this rite and guard this circle. So mote it be.

North

Rulers of Fire, Salamanders and elemental beings. We do call upon you to witness this rite and guard this circle. So mote it be.

West

Rulers of Water, Undines, sprites and elemental beings We do call upon you to witness this rite and guard this circle. So mote it be.

Calling the western quarter

Rulers of Earth, Elves, gnomes, and elemental beings. We do call upon you to witness this rite and guard this circle. So mote it be.

Fairy Queen

We call upon the Fairy Queen
To form the sprightly circling dance,
We call upon the Fey your steps advance;
Let your footsteps lightly bound
Unveil your forms to mortal eye;
Come join us in our revelry this night

Green Man

We call upon the Green Man
Join us in the ancient Beltane dance
With sprites and devas and laughter bring,
With light of heart we all will sing.
Blessings to one and all on this merry night

STATEMENT OF RITUAL PURPOSE

The intent of this ritual is to connect with the fey and spirit on this Beltane night. Now that the fey have joined us, they will assist us in opening to the wider powers of the universe. We will receive from and give back to the Universe, the Divine in ourselves, and in each other through the flow of universal energies.

Take time to allow yourself to be open to the flow of the Universe and the ways in which you can experience new avenues of consciousness in your life. Connect with the elemental energies. Join hands and sing we are a circle connecting in mind with the elemental beings.

OFFERINGS

Fairy Queen and Green Man walk around the circle sprinkling rose petals and candy. Candy is given to the participants. We all then dance around the May Pole.

CLOSING STATEMENT

Thank you for attending this ritual in honour of the Fairy Queen and the Green Man, the Beltane and the Fey. It is hoped that you feel more connected to spirit, to the fey and to each other. Faeries are here and they appreciate all acts done to honour.
