Diary of a Heretic → I Carry Your Heart – A Beltane Celebration
(Written November 20, 2008 by Janine)
The energy of Beltane was very vibrant and alive this year. Love was definitely in the air, and during our Beltane ritual we celebrated the union between the Great Mother and her young Horned God; their coupling representing the bringing of fresh new life on earth. No doubt some form of this Great Rite was enacted on this sabbat in nearly every pagan circle in the Southern Hemisphere.
What made this Beltane particularly special for me was the wedding of my daughter last Friday. It was the pinnacle of a year of planning, it was a perfect day and she looked absolutely stunning. I must thank the dragons for ensuring a lovely warm bright sunny day for the ceremony and the most spectacular display of lightning during the reception, no human fireworks could ever compete with Mother Nature.
Beltane is a good time to build on the changes that we have made in recent months, as it is the most potent and fertile part of the year’s cycle. Nature is now coming into full bloom and this is the time for us to fully realize our dreams. Make love, hug a tree, bloom like a flower, share your magical human energy with others and celebrate the fertility and potency of life.
The Taurus Full Moon coupled with the fertility of Beltane is the perfect time to celebrate who we are. Remember that everything is a reflection of what is happening within us and when we recognise that we are amazing beings of light we can see it reflected like the full moon’s rays all around us.
E.E. Cummings – i carry your heart
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
