Intent
As
we move into the midnight of the year, it is time to release, to let go
of that which is old, that it may become the compost for a new cycle.
Each of us then has things within our lives that we no longer want. It
may be a situation, an attitude, a belief, a feeling, or an experience.
It may even be a person, a thing or a role that you play. This then is
an ideal time to let go of such things, ideally simply focusing on one
aspect, so that you can work gently and thoroughly on enacting change.
We
will do this by using chanting, movement, drumming, clapping and intent
to move the sense of what we wish to release from our minds to our
emotions, to our bodies, and finally to the earth. We will be using
sounds that are recognised as being amongst the most primal in the
human experience. This will allow us to connect deeply, and indeed
release deeply. As we go through this process, we will be able to fully
feel in our bodies the nature of that which we are releasing—this being
recognisable in its purely physical form as an animal energy before it
is allowed to dissipate and thus release. Recognising this animal
energy will allow us to get a sense of the gift that this release
heralds, and therefore the benefits that we can look forward to as this
energy composts over winter to rebirth in a more positive manner in
spring.
Our intent is then to:
Recognise, Release
Working
As we chant, sing, drum, clap and/or move, it will be important that we hold our intent of release, allowing ourselves to really think about that which we are releasing, then allowing that thought to move into our emotions and feel what we are releasing, then allowing that feeling to move to our bodies, and as it does really focusing on the physical sensations, allowing them to become increasingly familiar until we recognize the animal form of what we are seeking to release. Allow yourself to fully experience this animal—if you like expressing it in the way that you move, sing or drum/clap. Finally feel even the energy of that animal dissipate and release into the earth.
Chant
Mu - ah - ish Om
Mu - ah - ish Om
Eh He Ye Eh
Mu - ah - ish - Om
Once you feel that the energy has dissipated, simply drop to the outside of the circle, continuing to ground by gently continuing to tone the Omtogether then we will sing:
We are the flow
We are the ebb
We are the weavers
We are the web
