INTENT
This gathering, we have so much that we are able to work with. Beyond
being still somewhat within the Full Moon cycle, it is also the mid
winter Solstice - Yule, the time when traditionally the rebirth of the
Sun God was celebrated. Indeed, this is the heart of the Christmas
tradition, when in the Northern hemisphere the journey back towards
fertile fields and abundance was celebrated. Beyond the difference in
season, we can appreciate that for us fertile earth relies not upon the
Sun - we have more than enough even in midwinter.. Rather, we seek the
rain to restore fertility to the land.
This Full Moon then, we seek to call upon the power of the dragons -
the mighty lines of force that carry and distribute the elemental
forces throughout and around the earth. We seek to summon, gather and
focus this power - eventually harnessing it by directing it into
appropriate herbs. Each person can then take home a small amount, and,
by offering it to one of the four elements ( by casting it to the wind,
burning it in the fire, setting it upon the waters or throwing it upon
the earth ) so disseminate it throughout the environment. In this way, all of us can play our part in CALLING THE RAIN
CIRCLE CASTING
After smudging, each person enters the circle, finding a place that
is comfortable. After grounding and centering, the circle is
cast first with incense, and then with salt water.
Then all together honour this land in song.

INVOCATION
Draco! Vermithrax! Dragon!
Heed now the old tongue:
Per saxum
Per Terra
In venas potestas
Auxilium,
Opus Nobis
MAGNUS
DRACONIS
WORKING
Together we will bring together those energies that we have invoked,
creating a sphere of dragon energy. We will bring these energies
together with the following chant:
Sairys Fafnir Naelyan Grael,
Weave this circle as a sphere.
Draco from your home on high,
Fill this sphere with sacred light.
Once the sphere is thus filled, we will open ourselves to this energy
using song, until we ourselves are filled with dragon power. We can if
we are able, visualise with each round of the song, each chakra - from
base to crown clearing and filling with energy, and then that energy
filling our entire being with illumination and power.
I AM THE EARTH
I am the earth moving under all
I am the air flowing over all
I am the fire that flows through heart and flows through soul
I am the ocean of love.
Once the energy is thus infused through our being, each can allow it to
flow through their being, directing it through the palm of
their hands towards the herbs which will be in the centre of the altar
as Caroline speaks:
May these herbs be empowered with the power of the dragon.
May they empower the water spirits of this land,
And may these water spirits within the earth then summon more of their
kind,
That the rains may fall
And this land once more
Be fertile.
