Leo/Aquarius Moon

The ideals of Leo and Aquarius come into their fullest expression at the Full Moon. As an individual, how fully are you expressing your life purpose? How does your purpose fit in the context of the collective? Who are you aligned with? What do you stand for?

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon at 27 degrees of Leo hints at the significance of this time in Earth's history: "The luminescence of dawn in the eastern sky; the exalting challenge of new opportunities at the threshold of a new cycle." This lunation has an open and airy quality, allowing us to release old patterns and experiment with new ones.

This is the Full Moon for involvement in something bigger than you. Put together an Aquarian Full Moon, a serious Saturn in Leo, and open-hearted Jupiter/Venus in Libra, and we find ourselves resting deeply in the realization that as individuals we are not the center of the universe. So, this is the Full Moon to break down the attraction to focusing only on self-growth. Remember that Aquarius rules the breakdown of the old ways by questioning the status quo. Those who create revolutionary change in societies are always the ones who can vision far beyond accepted beliefs and structures. In these troubled times, we all need to practice this.

Brigid

Brigid, first worshipped in ancient times was the daughter of the great Irish god Dagda, the 'Good Father'. She had two sisters who were also named Brigid. Taken together, they were called the 'Three Mothers', 'Three Sisters', or simply the Goddess Brigid.

Unlike in Greek mythology where the Triple Goddess represented the three chronological stages of a woman's life (Maiden, Matron, and Crone), the Bridgets were all of the same generation and the distinctions between them were based on their domains of responsibility.

Lugh

The name Lugh means "light". He is the Child of the Sun. Lugh is also the God of grain harvests, of crafting, metallurgy, grains & breads, looms, and fire. Lugh is known as a defender of the people, especially those who may be threatened by the forces of Nature. Lugh's Spear is the flash of Light which pierces the Darkness. He is Energy. A Sun God and God of the Sky and of Lightening, as well as of Death and Rebirth. He is Mage, Alchemist and Sorcerer. Lugh teaches us not to fight battles out of anger, but to fight for causes that are just and right. He teaches us to honour our promises and our oaths.

The Tuatha De Danann came to Ireland from four mysterious cities located in the sky. They brought with them four magical tools or weapons and there were four associated seers. These four magical tools are important to the modern Celtic magician for the practice of magic, and aids on the otherworld journeys.
